Virtual Recreation

Since our Red Bank children are home and perhaps a little bored, RB Rec is launching Virtual Recreation.  We will be offering various fun activities that children can participate in to have something fun to do while they are home.  Activities will include writing stories, scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, fitness activities, contests, games and more.  All activities are free and can be done at home with no/little supplies needed.  Our goal is to keep your children active (physically and mentally) and to provide fun activities during these unique times.  We have some prizes that we will give out including hats, t-shirts, water bottles and gift cards.

Today’s Virtual Recreation Activity

Children are encouraged to write a story about Space.  Be creative as stories can be about planets, aliens, astronauts, space shuttles, etc.  Stories can be a mystery, science fiction, comedy or simply an adventure.  All lengths are welcome; we would recommend about 500-1000 words, but shorter stories and longer stories are OK too.

Simply send the story back to us at the Rec Office.  They can be emailed to You can take a picture of it (if its handwritten) or send it as an email or attachment-whatever is easier.  We will announce the winner tomorrow and launch our 2nd kids activity.

Hopefully, these activities help your family and your children in some way during this time.

If you have any questions, please call the Dept of Recreation at 732 530 2782.

Thank you and good luck.

(Please spread the word to other families in RB).
