In addition to implementing the improvements recommended by a Management Enhancement Review performed by third-party professional consulting firm Government Strategy Group, the Borough of Red Bank continues to seek operational efficiencies and reduce unnecessary expenses for the benefit of taxpayers. The Borough Administration and Department of Public Utilities have reviewed usage at the Recycling Center located on West Sunset Avenue. It was determined that in light of curbside recycling service being offered twice per month to all residents and the increased cost of recycling processing costs, it was wasteful to offer additional hours of operation when usage was not in demand.
Therefore, to better allocate personnel to meet the operational needs of the Public Utilities Department in service to our residents, effective June 1, 2020, the Recycling Center will be open and staffed Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays between the hours of 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Recycling Center will continue to be attended by staff to assist residents with drop-off during these hours of operation and ensure the cleanliness of the facility.
