Red Bank Police Department Launches Operation Blue Angel

The Red Bank Police Department is happy to introduce Operation Blue Angel.  This is a program designed to provide another layer of safety and security for members of our community.  If you are 55 years of age or older, or have a medical condition that could be incapacitating, and you live alone or are alone a significant amount of the time, this program is available at no cost.   By filling out an application and submitting it to the Police Department, you may be eligible to have a lockbox, owned by the Police Department, placed on your exterior door that would contain a key to your residence.  In the event of an emergency, where you need medical assistance or are otherwise in danger, the responding police officer will have access to the lockbox and be able to quickly enter your home to provide assistance.

Each lockbox will have a distinct code that will only be provided to a responding officer once a call for assistance has been made by you or on your behalf.  Frequently, we respond to calls for assistance where a resident is incapacitated, and are delayed in entering the home due to the lack of a readily available means to do so.  Operation Blue Angel will provide a method for our officers to gain access to your home and provide immediate assistance without the need to cause damage to a door or window.  This program was made possible through generous donations made to the Police Department Trust Account that is utilized to further our community policing efforts.
